Contract: 12 months, fixed term
Salary: £25,584 plus expatriate benefits

Reporting to the Head of Programme and working closely with the Sectorial leads and area coordinators/managers, the Gender and Protection Coordinator has responsibility for establishing strategies, technical guidelines, mechanisms and implementation of cross cutting issues (gender, protection, aging and disabilities) The candidate will also capacity build IRW-SS staff on gender and protection mainstreaming and analysis to improve programme quality and impact. H/She will represent IRW-SS on the forums like protection cluster at Juba level.
The successful candidate must have or be:
Masters or advanced degree in gender studies and/or a related subject area
Proven experience combining formal expertise on protection and GBV mainstreaming and gender equality with experience of applying these concretely to specific humanitarian program sectors, plans, policies and processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high-level interpersonal, influencing, negotiation and representational capabilities. Fluency in written and spoken English essential
Strong emotional intelligence and resilience, and able to maintain composure - acting in a calm and measured way, in difficult situations.
Knowledge of and experience in the South Sudan context
