The Volunteer’s Role
This placement requires an experienced Business Development Specialist to help our partner move in the right direction for their organization and train staff with managing this change. This will require planning, coaching, directing, implementing and advising skills to facilitate this process. Our partner Trias Philippines, is a Belgian Non-Government Organization working in the Philippines to implement inclusive market interventions programs for family farms and small-scale entrepreneurs. You will be an agent for change in helping farmers, women in rural areas, and fisherfolk to improve their business.
As a volunteer, you will:
Attend meetings and familiarize yourself with the different programs and activities
Conduct field visit to see the businesses and different enterprises of members
Study the business model, plan development tools for Trias and implement these within respective organizations
Develop an operational and business development plan
Implement the business plan through intensive coaching and mentoring with the business plan team lead and the Trias advisor
Document process of business modeling and business development, and recommend improvements
Write the proposed operational manual for the respective businesses
Essential Academic Qualifications:
Essential Professional Background:
3-5 years of experience in business management, marketing, strategic planning, financial business planning, development of business management strategies, marketing and promotional strategies
Systems development especially along marketing or trading business
Support Package
Modest monthly living allowance (varies depending country)

Pre-departure training and in-country orientation
Travel and accommodation for reintegration debriefing weekend
Modest support for accompanying partners and dependents going on placement with you for 12 months or longer (Return flight, emergency medical insurance, vaccinations)
Access to Employee Assistance Program while in placement and upon return
Cuso International assessment day (Candidates must cover the first $200 of the most cost-effective travel expenses and all accommodation costs).
Travel and accommodation for the five-day pre-departure training course and for in-country orientation
Bonus: Additional return flight home or cash in lieu after 12 months of service for volunteers who extend for another 6 months
